You-do'-you
Heeeyyyyy everyone, I know that it's been a while since I last posted, but I've been trying to figure out what to say to my home-girls out thereeee.
Lemme just tell you all, so I have this friend who let's just say that she's having some family issues. We have all been there and can totally sympathize. She's always being taken advantage of by her family and they're just trying to run her whole life. she's eighteen and went to college near her family. I feel like, they think they can tell her who to date just because they're paying her tuition.
Now she has this thing with Robby Lovelace. He's a bit of a player. He's a frat boy, but he's cute, right? So anyway, her parents say that she needs to date this guy, named Roger. Roger is pretty rich. He got a job right out of college in a law firm, so he's making the big bucks. Anyway, since Roger works for her dad in his law firm, he seems to think that he KNOWS Roger is the ideal man. Her Dad also seems to think that, since he is going to be successful one day, he is more beneficial to the family.
Here's a brief piece of advice to all the ladies out there:
1. Stand up for your yourself.
If you happen to fall for a guy and your siblings or parents do not approve then it is important to establish their role in your life. You can't allow your families biased opinions to dictate your life. Sometimes, you have to make the unpopular decision by dating who you want and not who they want.
2. Do what makes you happy.
You are the ruler of your mansion. ultimately, you're the one marrying the guy and you want the best choice. Don't let others convince you to be with someone who you're not feelin'.
3. Independence is key.
Know that you are a strong independent woman who should take pride in who she is and stay firm in your beliefs.
So these are my thoughts on this subject. If you find yourself in this situation, know that you're not alone. I will keep you all updated on what's going on.
